US democracy is just OK, but there are no grounds for complacency. Know that the world is watching us, how we voted, where only half of the voting population voted during the last 2016 presidential election.
As my 20-yr old daughter who goes to San Jose State University replied when I asked why the election did not reflect the wishes of the majority. She said because many of the students in her school did not bother to vote. And now they are on the streets protesting. It is not too late, we have to be forever be watchful of what is happening in our democracy. We do not want it to go back many years before where women cannot vote, cannot decide about her bodies and cannot hold high public positions/power.
